In October we had a wonderful Multi-Cultural Night! Thank you to all those who
organized the event as well as those who shared about your families’ cultural
backgrounds and experiences that night. We have such a fantastic community!
In November we finish up our first trimester of school and you have the opportunity
to meet with your child’s teacher regarding your child’s academic and behavioral
progress since school started. Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held
November 21st-26th during the afternoon. All students will attend school from
8:30-11:30 during this time (including Friday, November 22nd). There is no
school on November 28th and 29th for Thanksgiving Break. There is also no
school on December 2nd. This is a teacher work day for professional learning and
collaboration. School will be back to our regular schedule for all students on
Tuesday, December 3rd.
At Parent/Teacher Conferences you will receive a report card showing your child’s
progress during this first trimester. Teachers will be sharing information about the
Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for English Language Arts and
Mathematics, as well as the state standards for Science, Social Studies, etc. that
your children have learned and will be learning this year. This is a wonderful
opportunity for you to discuss your child’s progress towards meeting these
standards as well as to ask questions or share concerns you may have regarding
your child’s education. It is an excellent time to discuss ways to work together to
make this year a successful one! Please reach out to your child’s teacher if you
have not received information about your child’s conference date and time. I look
forward to seeing you as you visit our school during Conference Week!
Thank you for your continued support of our school!
