Greetings Maplewood Heights Families from Principal Prince!

Here is some updated information regarding the start of school! 

Meet Your Teacher-Classroom Teacher Assignments 
  • You will receive an email from your child’s classroom teacher today, Thursday, August 27th after 3:30pm. This email will include information about your child’s A or B schedule. Unfortunately, we were unable to meet all the A schedule requests due to the higher number of requests for A. As we get the school year running possible adjustments could be made. 
  • You can also log into Skyward Family Access to find out your child’s teacher on Thursday, August 27th after 4:00. This will not tell you if you are in the A or B session.
    • Forgotten your password, enter the user name and it will email you a link to reset the password. 
    • Forgotten your username, you enter your email address and it will send you an email with the username AND instructions for resetting the password. 
  • If this doesn’t work, please contact marissa.glenn@rentonschools.us and she can help you. 
Kindergarten Information
  • The first day of school for Kindergarten is September 8th. Kindergarten parents will be receiving a phone call this week to set up a virtual meeting with the teacher between September 2nd-4th.
Student Supplies 
  • We will be offering student supplies at a reduced price of $5.00 per student or $0 if your family qualifies for the free/reduced lunch program.  Payment can be made by logging into Skyward Family Access. 
Chromebook/Supply Distribution
  • We will be distributing supplies and Chromebooks on Friday, August 28th according to grade level. (See chart below.) Please remain in your car and drive to your grade level. There will be signs. You can open your trunk or the staff members will hand supplies to you through the window. Even if you are not purchasing supplies, there will be other materials that teachers will be handing out so please come by. If possible, bring your own pen if you are signing out a Chromebook. We are prioritizing our new families first (including our Kindergarteners).

  • Unfortunately due to our current circumstances this is not like our typical Meet the Teacher event and not all staff are not able to participate for their own health and safety. The great news is that you will have an opportunity to meet with the teacher (via zoom) during the first 3 days of school. Teachers will be sending out information in their email today on how to sign up for a time. Because we are prioritizing time for you to meet with teachers, we have reduced the Live Instruction time to 1 hour during these 3 days to allow for teachers to meet with all families. (A Session 9-10:00 & B Session 1:15-2:15) On Tuesday, September 8th we will begin the 2 hr and 15 minute Live Instruction Blocks. 
19-20 Yearbook Update: 
  • Our yearbooks from last year are in and ready to go home with you! During Friday’s Supply Pick Up schedule you will be able to pick up all your yearbooks too! You will have the option of picking up any siblings who have moved on to Middle School or are in a different grade as well. All 5th graders from last year will be receiving a yearbook, thanks to the many wonderful donations! 
  • There are extra yearbooks available for purchase. Please have cash or check made out to MHE PTA of $15.00 ready when you come through our drive thru line.
