Principal's Message

Dear Maplewood Families,
Welcome to the 2019-20 school year! September just flew by! We have had a great start to the year and students are demonstrating daily that they understand our school-wide
expectations-PAWS (Practice Safety, Act Responsibly, Work Well with Others and Show
Respect). As of Friday, our students have earned 4,206 Panther PAWS! Way to Go Panthers!

We had our annual Curriculum Night on Thursday, September 19th. Teachers were able to share information regarding the academic and behavioral expectations for this year. We realize that not everyone was able to attend but please reach out to your child’s teacher if you have any questions. Thank you to those who bought treats that will help to support MHE families throughout the year. Each family should have received one copy of the Maplewood Heights Student Handbook. Please take some time to review the information in the handbook because every year new information is added. It will answer many of your questions regarding school expectations and policies. It will also be available on our school website for reference.

October is National Bullying Prevention Awareness Month. Our school will be participating in the World Day of Bullying Prevention on October 7th. We are inviting all students to #Blueup by wearing blue on this date. Blue was chosen because in many diverse cultures blue brings peace. https://www.stompoutbullying.org/

This School Newsletter will be emailed approximately every month and it is filled with
important whole school information. Thank you for taking the time to read it.

I am truly looking forward to this year! Thank you for your continued support of our school! Please give me a call at 425-204-4750 or email me at tamra.prince@rentonschools.us if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Tamra Prince, Principal
